This is going to keep happening, isn't it? - by Lyle McKeany - Just Enough to Get Me in Trouble
Sometimes it feels as if logging off to go on a walk or to run an errand or whatever can potentially cost me thousands of dollars. Several weeks ago, I somehow missed the launch of an NFT project called Loot and some of my friends are selling theirs for tens of thousands of dollars. One friend even paid off their mortgage with the proceeds from it

Fallout begins for far-right trolls who trusted Epik to keep identities secret
After Alayon’s name appeared in the breached data, his brokerage, Travers Miran Realty, dropped him as an agent, as first reported by the real estate news site Inman. The brokerage’s owner, Rick Rapp, told The Washington Post that he didn’t “want to be involved with anyone with thoughts or motives like that.”
The Post publicizes material obtained through hacking with caution, only after verifying its authenticity and ascertaining that there is news value in bringing such information to light.

Covert Postal Service unit probed Jan. 6 social media
Few Americans are aware that the same organization that delivers their mail also runs a robust surveillance operation rooted in an agency that dates back to the 18th century. And iCOP’s involvement raises questions about how broad the mandate of the Postal Service’s policing arm has grown from its stated mission of keeping mail deliverers safe.

Excellent: An Illustrated Guide to Plastic Straws - by Handwaving Freakoutery - Handwaving Freakoutery
Globally: One and only one solution exists to curbing the deluge of oceanic plastics. The international community has to get the Philippines and similar countries enough money to have proper garbage collection. Locally: You must reduce the amount of plastic shipped overseas by putting it in the regular garbage instead of the recycle bin. There is no other reasonable option, mathematically speaking, given the realities on the ground. And banning straws is just plain stupid.
