How "Tactical" Infiltrated Everyday Life
This process starts with all of us, as leaders of brands, leaders in media or as individual consumers, asking one important question: Are certain words and images simple marketing hooks or more potentially concerning calls to action? We've already witnessed an uptick in the number of armed militias and an increase in deaths due to gun violence. As such, in a nation that becomes more divided (and on edge) with every passing day, taking time to apply a more critical eye to this matter feels more important than ever.

‘Fake news’ poses corrosive existential threat to democracy – Study
Online ‘fake news’ is an existential threat to democracy - not because most people believe bogus content, but because of the corrosive effect it has on trust among citizens and their faith in democratic institutions representing them, according to a new study.
The study notes that before Internet use became widespread, citizens had a relatively limited range of information sources such as newspapers and TV stations - creating greater information overlap, more ‘shared experiences’ and, in turn, less reason to worry about the beliefs of others. Widespread internet access changed this situation, as citizens were confronted with vastly increasing sources of information, fewer shared experiences and the awareness that others might share fewer fundamental beliefs with them.

Jan6
-
The propaganda campaign is working on some. From the HN thread on "Tactical"; this comparison of Jan6 and BLM:
Do you feel there's a difference between Jan6 and any of the BLM riots
Yes, I feel there's a very significant difference between an attempt to overthrow the Republic and establish monarchy with deliberate and explicit murderous intent, and protest gatherings that became violent after police began firing weapons into previously peaceful crowds.

We could not observe a mortality-reducing effect of vaccination in Dutch municipalities after vaccination and booster campaigns. We did find a 4-sigma-significant mortality-enhancing effect during the two periods of high unexplained excess mortality.

Russian National Charged with Conspiring to Act as Illegal Agents of the Russia
According to the indictment, Ionov’s relationship with U.S. Political Group 1 continued until at least March 2022. Specifically, in the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, U.S. Political Group 1 repeatedly hosted Ionov via video conference to discuss the war, during which Ionov falsely stated that anyone who supported Ukraine also supported Nazism and white supremacy. In a report to the FSB, Ionov explained that he had enlisted U.S. Political Group 1 to support Russia in the “information war unleashed” by the West.
