President Donald J. Trump Approves District of Columbia Emergency Declaration | The White House
Today, President Donald J. Trump declared that an emergency exists in the District of Columbia and ordered Federal assistance to supplement the District’s response efforts due to the emergency conditions resulting from the 59th Presidential Inauguration from January 11 to January 24, 2021.
The President’s action authorizes the Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), to coordinate all disaster relief efforts which have the purpose of alleviating the hardship and suffering caused by the emergency on the local population, and to provide appropriate assistance for required emergency measures, authorized under Title V of the Stafford Act, to save lives and to protect property and public health and safety, and to lessen or avert the threat of a catastrophe in the District of Columbia.
Thomas J. Fargione [is named] as the Federal Coordinating Officer for Federal recovery operations in the affected area.

am not a fan of conspiracies - whether they are the q-anon types or the Russia-Russia-Russia types, facts are facts. Donald Trump arrived at his rally late and his speech ran overtime, so much so, that he was still speaking at his rally (@1.15pm) when USA today tells us that the capitol hill insurrection began (@1.10pm). The physical distance between Trump's rally and Capitol Building is 1.6 miles, a brisk protester's walk of around 30 minutes. No rally attendees would have arrived at the Capital Building much before 1.45pm. People attending Trump rallies do not leave before Trump finishes speaking. Now, I am not saying that the capital building affray was not perpetrated by Trump supporters (although there is some evidence of provocateurs) But, what I am saying is that nothing Trump said at his Rally could have incited any 'insurrection' that had begun before Trump finished speaking.

5.40pm; i wonder how long before "this was a mistake; we didn't mean to give any appearance of taking a moral stand!" - Idaho internet company blocks Facebook, Twitter over 'censorship' | kgw.com
Your T1 WIFI provides internet services to North Idaho and the Spokane area.
Your T1 WIFI said it decided to block Twitter and Facebook after the company received several calls from customers about both websites. "It has come to our attention that Twitter and Facebook are engaged in censorship of our customers and information," an email to customers reads
Your T1 WIFI's actions, however, could violate Washington state's Net Neutrality law.
"Our company does not believe a website or social networking site has the authority to censor what you see and post and hide information from you, stop you from seeing what your friends and family are posting," the email reads. "This is why with the amount of concerns, we have made this decision to block these two websites from being accessed from our network."

Dance to the Line – According To Hoyt
As this war progresses, perhaps over a couple of months, (yes, it would normally be years. BUT the Covidiocy has everyone one edge, and I AM NOT JOKING, I want you to spread this to every single friend who might join in. We need a lot of us to do this before they bring famine and destruction to the land) the left is going to overextend themselves. They can’t help but do it. They will continually lose social capital by being the tyrannical monsters that they are. They will be more desperate, and more vicious. Support your friends and neighbors. Get everyone you can connected with one another, and armed. Don’t ever allow the idea that they’ll leave you alone if you cooperate to go unchallenged. They will reach the point that they are chasing us into our strongholds where we are prepared and they are weakened and separated from support. Then we destroy them from those prepared positions.

Parler
Parler's origin story can be summarised as:
- Former startup founder and Amazon dev meets beautiful Russian woman in Vegas
- Whirlwind romance
- Married in Russia
- Travels Russia for 6 months allegedly having meetings with tech people and lawyers
- Comes back to Vegas and starts social network with 'secret' (eg not publicly disclosed) investors.
None of that is necessarily a smoking gun. It could be entirely legitimate and above board, and just the story of how someone started a business that's right on the edge of what's socially acceptable for many people. But if you wanted to build a honeypot social network in the USA that is pretty much exactly how you'd do it.

98% of the votes are in as I write this, and the democrats are winning both seats up for grabs. That will give them a narrow majority.
The bond market is the smartest money. The 10yr treasury is up 8% this morning. That is an enormous move. It is signaling that they expect more inflation (relative to the alternative, a senate controlled by republicans) based on the new dynamic this election result has brought us.
We haven't had serious inflation for more than 40 years. Deflation still remains more of an immediate concern. Because interest rates are at zero, policy makers at the Fed remain dependent on fiscal actions by the government to prevent a total collapse of the debt bubble we have here in America and across the world. Now that democrats are in control, their ability to single handedly approve massive fiscal spending is guaranteed. Because of this, a severe correction in asset prices (especially housing) is highly unlikely. Democrats are likely to be super accommodative to those "affected" by the virus. It wouldn't surprise me at all to see forgiveness of house payments for those who are in forbearance (for FHA, Fannie and Freddie loans), forgiveness of student debt, and other inflationary policy.
There used to be market forces that would prevent such bold moves. But, that is no longer the case. For instance, 3rd parties used to be the main purchasers of MBSs (mortgage backed securities)(3rd parties like pension funds and sovereign governments, think China), but the main buyer of MBSs in now the Fed, our own government. Makes sense, because who else is crazy enough to finance someone at 80% loan to value (high risk) at a 2% rate for 30 years? The answer is no one else is willing to do that. This dynamic is extremely bullish for housing for many reasons. It is an artificially low rate that supports prices. Since they have gone down this path, they cannot undo it, and are actually more likely to dive in further. If they dive in further, they could actually take rates much lower. Since the FED buys the majority of MBSs now, there wouldn't be much of a difference for them to buy them all. And if they buy them all, they can put whatever interest rate to the mortgage market that they want, even a negative rate. If you think there is a bubble in housing now, just wait until mortgage rates are at zero or negative in the next downturn.
Our current economic situation most resembles a 5 gallon bucket with many holes in it. The Fed and government are stimulating by pouring water in, but they are not pouring water in fast enough to overflow the bucket, because the deflationary forces (debt, virus, demographics, technology), the holes, are letting just as much, if not more, water out as they are pouring in.
We should expect the dems to print money like crazy. They will create more bureaucracy and programs and increase taxes on "the wealthy" and they will likely accelerate the MMT (free money give-away) programs, like the CARES Act. They took notice when giving away 3 trillion didn't increase inflation and additional trillion to finish off the year with a 5 trillion deficit. Seeing that type of deficit spending had no impact on inflation is guaranteed to make the dems salivate. They can't wait to spend money like crazy. So, they will continue to deficit spend and do it with increasingly larger numbers over time. And when that doesn't create inflation, they will say, "no big deal, the problem was, we just didnt do enough."
So, eventually, yeah, there will be inflation. And that will be a serious problem because of the amount of debt we have, but it isn't going to happen tomorrow. Thank you, Craig Cox
