SpaceX’s Starlink near-misses with other spacecraft are getting ‘out of control’
SpaceX’s Starlink satellites are responsible for over half of all near-collisions in space, according to the head of the Astronautics Research Group. Craft from the space company, which was founded by Elon Musk, are involved in approximately 1,600 close encounters every week says Hugh Lewis, the head of the research group.
...Starlink satellites are responsible for over half of all near-collisions in space, according to...
and yet
...there are approximately 228 million pieces of space debris...
So - either the mere ~1,700 Starlink satellites are ~100,000X hyper-achievers when it comes to near-collisions...or else the The Independent is yearning to win a "Lies...Damn Lies...Statistics" hype-achiever award.

Free Software NOT as in 'free speech,' NOR as in 'free beer'
I am talking about free and open source projects that are increasingly restricting the access of Iranian users and in the most ridiculous case, they are blocking all Iranian IPs! which, as far as I know, is not mandatory, and US law does not force companies to block IPs, but only prohibits them from providing services and trading with Iran, which goes back to politics, but my current argument is not commercial or political. My argument is about access to the gratis part of the free (Libre) and open source world. Something that does not require any financial transactions, the part that is gratis and publicly accessible.

Watch live: Biden addresses evacuation of Americans and Afghan allies from Kabul
+ ZeroHedge: "Update (1350ET): What a fucking farce... now he is speaking live..."
Secretary Blinken And I Am Going To Be Working With Our Allies To See To It We Can Bring International Pressure On The Telephone -- Taliban. They're Looking To Gain Some Legitimacy. They Are Going To Have To Figure Out How To Maintain Their Country. There Will Be Strong Conditions We Will Apply, And It Will Depend On Whether They Get Help Is Done How Will They Treat Women And Girls, How They Treat Their Citizens. So This Is Just Beginning.
I Have Not Seen Any Question About Our Credibility From Allies.
We Have No Indication That They Have Not Been Able To Get, In Couple, Through The Airport. We Have Made An Agreement With The Taliban, And They Have Allowed Them To Go Through. We Know If No Circumstance Where American Citizens That Are Carrying An American Passport Are Trying To Get Through Through The Airport. But We Will Do Whatever Needs To Be Done To See To It They Get There.

One corporate press stenographer changed up his pre-approved question. Biden literally answered, "I thought the question was," before attempting to answer the new question.

FBI Shoots Down Dem 'Conspiracy Theory' That Jan. 6 Capitol Riot Was Pre-Planned | ZeroHedge
Though federal officials have arrested more than 570 alleged participants, the FBI at this point believes the violence was not centrally coordinated by far-right groups or prominent supporters of then-President Donald Trump, according to the sources, who have been either directly involved in or briefed regularly on the wide-ranging investigations.

“Repatriation flights are not free,” Question 14 of the form stated when accessed by the DCNF around 10 p.m. Thursday, over two-and-a-half hours after Price issued his statement. “All passengers will need to reimburse the U.S. Government for the flight. A promissory note for the full cost of the flight, which may exceed $2000 per person, must be signed by each adult passenger before boarding,” the form stated.
Politico first reported Thursday afternoon that sources on the ground witnessed the State Department charging American citizens who had made their way past armed Taliban checkpoints and into the Kabul airport upwards of $2,000 to board evacuation flights. The outlet added that the State Department did not deny it was charging Americans seeking to flee Afghanistan.
