The American socialist worldview is just totally broken

I would like to think that the new American socialist movement’s forays into the ridiculous and the reprehensible are simply growing pains. But looking at the even starker failures of Corbyn’s movement in the UK and Melenchon’s movement in France, it’s difficult to be optimistic about this. Yes, about half of young Americans say they like socialism, but this won’t necessarily stop the movement from turning into a kooky fringe over time — as an example, libertarian views in America are quite common, but almost no Americans identify as political libertarians. I can easily envision socialism following a similar path.

Samsung Electronics has a culture problem that has shaken it to its core. Samsung is slipping on all aspects of technology development including the one area they have historically crushed all competitors, DRAM. They do not produce a top 3 mobile SOC anymore, with even MediaTek passing them up. The foundry business has bled its two largest customers in short succession to TSMC. There are credible reports of lies and deceit within the Samsung Foundry operations. Even Intel’s fledgling new foundry business has been able to woo over a customer or two from Samsung Foundry!

South Carolina police on Sunday arrested a man suspected in the shooting at a Columbia mall that left 14 people injured. A South Carolina judge announced that Jewayne M. Price, 22, would be granted a surety bond of $25,000 and be required to wear an ankle monitor, the television station reported. He must also have no contact with anyone involved in the incident and must stay away from the shopping mall,
