A pause now to take a look back reveals a very different picture from what the public remembers.

In postmenopausal women, the risk of unexpected vaginal bleeding (i.e., postmenopausal bleeding) in the 4 weeks after COVID-19 vaccination was increased two- to threefold, compared to a prevaccination period. The corresponding risk of unexpected vaginal bleeding after vaccination was increased three- to fivefold in both nonmenstruating peri- and premenopausal women. In the premenopausal women, Spikevax was associated with at 32% increased risk as compared to Comirnaty.

  I found this really perplexing and insulting. Instead of getting recognized for fixing the issue, he wanted to give me more work to do. My company and I should have received proper credit for solving this issue, especially considering how much effort we put into it. I felt it was really unfair to only get a “Reported-by” tag.

  • The maintainers' fix was better. More complete. The maintainer goal is to have the kernel work better, the contributor goal was to solve their specific problem; both achieved here. The contributor's desire for recognition is a separate issue, and "here's another thing that needs work" seems like a great way to respond to that.
