There’s something called the Eternal September, about how – well, should I be pretending to tell you from the position of someone who’d know? It happened the month after I was born.
a response:
Exclusivity and elitism get a bad rap. The most important ingredient for a high-quality community is high-quality people, and to keep out the lower-quality people you need to have barriers to entry.

Biden’s transition team has revealed there is a very real fear that members of the national guard who support President Trump might kill Biden during the inauguration so they’ve asked commanders to confiscate all ammo and magazines from the soldiers.
Biden’s transition team asked if it would be possible to determine which soldiers voted in GOP primaries or who have contributed to GOP candidates so commanders could station them away from the president-elect. The request was refused fueling their fear of attack.

/pol/ - HOLY FUCK ITS A COUP. I REPEAT: IT - Politically Incorrect - 4chan
am a National Guard soldier from the District of Columbia Army National Guard. Rumor going around for days is we aren't here for Biden. We are here to seize power for the real president, President Trump. My commanding officer just confirmed it. The order will come in the dead of night on the 19th/20th. When you wake up on the 20th, we will have seized all the organs of power in DC for President Trump and Biden and his cabinet along with TONS of senators and reps will be in cuffs. Everyone I have talked to is ready to go. We are ready to save America.

How Will Parler Shutdown Affect Corporate Cloud Customers' SEC Filings? - Slashdot
Prior to tech's shutdown of Parler, it's been suggested that such risks are largely theoretical. "We do not believe that Amazon will use the AWS operation in such a manner as to gain competitive advantage against our service," states Netflix in its last 10-K filing, "although if it was to do so it could harm our business."

- 40x i3.Metal instances (64 vCPU's, 512 Gb ram (more ram, of course, better for those)), 14 Tb nVME e/a (Scylla cluster)
- 70-100x (96 vCPUs, 768 GB RAM) - 4 Tb nVME e/a (PSQL cluster, could use more RAM and CPU, but not easy to get)
- 300-400 various other instances, less picky, generally 8-16 cores w/ 32-64 Gb of ram as available

“Tencent QQ caught scraping all browser history on Windows”
"For those unaware, QQ is a desktop IM service by Tencent"
It was trying to read certain types of URLs encoded in MD5, found to be these. https://i.imgur.com/rSOyTt7.jpg It wants to know what you searched on e-commerce sites. This is somewhat unsursprising, Tencent failed on e-commerce, it desperately needs these data to help with user profiling.
they don't even upload the URLs that match, but just the fact that there was a match for one of three groups of keywords. Seems like a lot of effort for little information gain...
