Speaking Power to Truth - Claremont Review of Books
We have seen the practice of stifling debate and purging dissenters on college campuses, but not the theory. Proponents of an intellectually restricted campus have been more interested in imposing than justifying those restrictions. What Snowflakes Get Right by Ulrich Baer, comparative literature professor at New York University, tries to fill that gap. Baer is not a terribly reliable guide to First Amendment doctrine or American constitutional history, but he calls, explicitly and forcefully, for sharply curtailing the scope of speech and debate on American college campuses.

The Scholar's Stage: The Problem of the New Right
The left never shies away from using government to make the world woke, but we have never been allowed to reply in kind. The libertarian dogmas of Milton Friedman and Frederick Hayek have handicapped conservativism. Libertarian ideals—which champion the sovereign individual unfettered by community, tradition, or obligation—are sugar coated poison pills. They promise to beat back a grasping federal government, but attempt to achieve this aim by sacralizing the same fatal lie that makes progressivism possible in the first place. There is no notion of common good, goes the lie, that can ever justify violating your right to individual self-realization.
Do you see the common thing that strings these all together? When I read New Right writings and meet with New Righters in person I cannot help but notice how Northeastern their vision of politics is. They do not like to admit this, but it is true. They are the spiritual heirs of the New England Whigs; when they find anything sympathetic at all in the American tradition, it is in the Boston Brahmins' lost aristocracy.

Biden Labor Board Invalidates Workers' Vote to Reject Union - Washington Free Beacon
The National Labor Relations Board overruled hundreds of Delaware poultry workers who had voted to reject union leadership. The agency said in a 3-1 ruling released Wednesday that a provision prohibiting workers from leaving a union for a set time period after a contract is signed allowed the board to ignore the workers' March 2020 vote. The decision reversed a regional NLRB director who had initially ruled in the workers' favor.
