Teen Who Knew Uvalde Shooter Drops Bomb About Him — The Republic Brief
“Salvador Ramos was a boy who was not bullied,” Arellano told the news station on Wednesday. “He would try to pick on people but fail, and it would aggravate him.”
“He always seemed to take his anger out on the most innocent person in the room,” Foutz added, who had attended school with Ramos in addition to working with him. “He would get angry at people thinking he wasn’t OK. He was just always super odd.”

Scientists use data all the time. We often disagree about how to use data, and we criticize each other for it. Some people, approaches and subfields regularly do stupid stuff with data; as a result they are not taken seriously by the rest of the community. What we do not do is ban other people from using our data because we think they might use it wrong. (Imagine that in my field! If economists withheld economic data because someone might misinterpret it, we wouldn’t release any data, ever.) This is less like science and more like the idea attributed to Stalin.

Uber and Lyft Are Out of Ideas, Jacking Up Prices in Desperation for Profit
I think we're about to see a lot of tech ideas with questionable economics come back to earth. When the cost of capital was below a single digit, "parking" money in a growth bet could vaguely make sense. After all, someday Uber would figure it out, or get AVs, or .. something? Better than leaving the money in a .01% money market for 10 years, or parking the money in something with no path for growth like industrials.
